Primary Filtration

This 25 litre filtration unit is very simple and highly effective. The unit is designed for warm or cold filtering under gravity to take out the food particles and hard fats from your vegetable oil fuel which may hinder the operation of your conversion, leave deposits in your fuel tank and plug up your vehicles filtration systems.

The effectiveness of the filter media relies on the quality of the raw fuel product. This system will not remove water particles and Free Fatty Acids which can be removed with the aid of Vegiecars Filter Powder. The alternative is to settle the water out which may take several weeks.

The Kit is supplied with one 50 micron and two 5 micron sock filters. The filter media is likely to get a build up of particle deposits and fats, which can be scraped out with a spatula and discarded. When the filter media is no longer operating effectively, the bag can be washed in a mild caustic solution, which will breakdown the fats and oils. This will increase the life of the filter, which will need to be replaced in time.

The Filter housing (plastic canoe drum) can be purchased locally at Bunnings or an outdoor store, saving postage costs. The housing can handle temperatures of around 80°c which is more than hot enough to allow the waste vegetable oil to flow freely through the filter bag.

The kit includes quality tap fittings, one 50 micron filter bag, two 5 micron filter bags and a sample of Vegiefuel filter powder. Housing sold separately.
