When the ignition is switched off, the purge timer will cut in and trigger a relay to switch the fuel selector valve to return to the diesel position regardless of where it has ben manually switched to. The time is adjustable to allow the fuel lines and the injector pump to be purged of vegetable oil and replaced with diesel fuel before the engine is shut off.
The timer includes a manual override to allow the vehicle to shut down immediately. This can be utilized if the vehicle is being shut down for short periods, but should be allowed to purge fully at the end of service before being left idle for long periods.
On start up, the fuel system will be saturated with diesel fuel allowing for easy starting. If the manual switch is on vegie oil, The fuel valve will switch the line directly to vegetable oil as soon as the ignition is turned on, so VegieFuel will be moving down the fuel line from start up.
The booster heater will heat up rapidly being at full temperature before the VegieFuel reaches it. At the same time the injector line heaters will start to heat up, allowing the lines to be at full temperature before the vegetable oil reaches the injectors from the injector pump.
When the ignition is switched off, the fuel valve will switch to the diesel fuel position and run on for a set period of time, purging the fuel system of VegieFuel and saturating the system with diesel ready for the next start up.
It may be necessary to blend the VegieFuel with some mineral fuels in colder weather conditions to help "winterize" the fuel, keeping it fluid.
The Purge kit is currently unavailable. We can offer the turbo timer component for $100 and suggest that you have an auto electrician install it for you to automatically switch the fuel valve in the manner outlined above.
